Response to "HOW I PLAN TO FEEL MORE “HUMAN” IN THE WEEK FOLLOWING BIRTH"

Updated: Jul 20

I read this post from Latched Momma this morning. Things she planned to do to make herself feel more human. I haven't related to anything more this pregnancy. After Tristan's birth, I did not move. I did not shower. I honestly felt gross, depressed and less than human. I stayed in frumpy pjs. In fact I only changed pjs and started showering because I was afraid my dirty breast were going to make Tristan sick. I definitely will shower at the hospital this time. I didn't last time. I did a quick wipe off and salt soak. I did not pack the right clothes last time. For some reason I thought I'd be able to fit right back into prepregnacy jeans. ABSOLUTELY not. It was so much pain trying to put my legs in pants. Not making that mistake again.

Me time. Every mom deserves a little me time. I'll have to try to make it a priority. And not zoning out on my phone while I'm using the bathroom.

Fresh Air. Yes yes YES. I actually made a mental promise to Tristan that I would enjoy as many moments outside with him. I intend to keep that promise. Even with baby brother in tow. https://blog.latchedmama.com/2021/05/24/how-i-plan-to-feel-more-human-in-the-week-following-birth/?u
